Still quite a lot of interesting birds in town. Not everything was as tame as the above Dusky Thrush though.

Still quite a lot of interesting birds in town. Not everything was as tame as the above Dusky Thrush though.
Small winter passerines have been very thin on the ground this winter, no idea why.
So it was nice to see this male Long-tailed Rosefinch near my apartment today. Difficult to get a clear view (unlike summer when they sing atop bushes well to the north and east of here).

Long-tailed Rosefinches were particularly common this summer on the north coast…

We were watching a family of foxes and parked next to the road. Just outside the car window was a small tree with several common species on it………………

There were at least 3 male Long-tailed Rosefinch at Omusaro and they posed nicely at eye level for a change this year…………..
Another common bird at Omusaro was Long-tailed Rosefinch: there seemed to be far more than in previous years at that particular site…………
