You have to admit they’re cute…
A family of Long-tailed Tits visited the pool…
The one above is an adult but the rest are juveniles.
We spent a couple of early mornings in Onuma this last week. Lots of birds around: the 9 Snow Geese and single White-fronted remained, 5 species of woodpecker, Great Egret, Whooper Swan, Great Crested and Little Grebes, White-tailed Eagle, the usual tits and nuthatches, Long-tailed Rosefinch, Hawfinch, Bullfinch, Rustic Bunting, Japanese Wagtail, Great Egret, Dusky Thrush and Common Crossbill.
A couple more shots from my walk this morning: a male Daurian Redstart and a Long-tailed Tit.
A Long-tailed Tit east of town this afternoon. This is the ultra cute white-headed race caudatus. It is very popular with local bird photographers, some even seem to prefer it to the eagles…………..
