Dreadful day for photos in the park this morning. Quite a few interesting birds; Green Sandpiper, Eyebrowed Thrush, Common Crossbill, Oriental Cuckoo plus all the usual stuff.
This Wryneck played hide and seek with me. It won.

Near Yakumo there were lots of birds in the fields, A full summer plumage male Brambling was a nice find but when we turned around the car to try and get a good photo it had moved. Luckily there were lots of Rustic bunting including this summer plumage male…

There were lots of Lapland Bunting around including a flock of 30 or so. Very skittish though and difficult to approach; especially on a long windswept freezing beach.

It wasn’t all eagles. The coastal grasslands had some interesting winter visitors including a small flock of Pine Bunting. They were just near where we parked our car on our first visit to this spot; despite many attempts we failed to relocate them later.

A lot of interesting birds in the park recently…the first Daurian Redstart of the winter, 3 species of woodpecker, lots of Nuthatch, 4 species of tit…
And near my apartment this female Bullfinch was skulking around.
