Another grey foggy Sunday

Dollarbird

The Dollarbird was still around but it was very jumpy and difficult to photograph. The gloomy light didn’t help either.

Quite a few interesting birds around today: Eurasian Spoonbill, White-tailed Eagle, Shoveler, Great Crested Grebe, Little and Intermediate Egrets, Osprey, Oriental Honey Buzzard, Wryneck and Japanese Grosbeak……….

A rare bird on a wire

Dollarbird

A really crappy photo but it’s of quite a scarce bird up here: a Dollarbird. An overshoot visitor I think.

Only the second one I’ve seen in Hokkaido and it was on a wire on an unlikely looking mountain road in the middle of nowhere.

It was very jumpy, maybe I’ll go back tomorrow and see if it’s still there.
