Good to find Scoters on land and so close – usually only see in rafts way off the coast! Generally your shots of even the common species (walk to the Cape) better than I have managed! Question: due to my lack of photographic skills (quite possible anyway) or I need to upgrade camera to mirror less?!

Hi Tony, yes they are usually way offshore in the UK. Never seen one closer then a couple of hundred meters offshore there.
You could upgrade your kit, I would if I were you (but I’m not you, so…).
