There were 3 Crossbills in the small park near my apartment this morning. Lighting was not good and it was difficult to get a clear view.
This female obligingly flew down to the ground to take a drink………..
The white markings on the wings are occasionally seen on Common Crossbills, this is not a White-winged Crossbill sadly.
Brambling, Hawfinch, Dusky Thrush, Coal and Varied Tits were around as was a flyover Great Cormorant, presumably newly arrived for the spring.
