Some people I teach desperately want to see this species so I gave them the location and they’ll check tomorrow. Hope they are successful…

800
The tame crossbill was in the sunshine today; no need for heavy processing as i could use ‘normal’ settings like ISO 800.
Some commoners
Some common birds from this morning…
More cuteness
The Long-tailed Tits were still around this morning…
6400 #4
Think this might be a first winter bird, possibly male?
6400 #3
It was absurdly tame…
6400 #2
More of the tame one in the dark yesterday…
6400 #1
There were a couple of crossbills in the tiny park yesterday but it was dark and raining and with the RF 600 f/11 I was at ISO 6400. Amazing what AI denoising can do (these were with Lightroom’s version; I also use Topaz Denoise sometimes).
An outsider
As you can see the local race is white-headed…
But this one had head markings like some of the southern races…
The holdout
Only 1 crossbill seen since last Saturday; this male holding out in the tiny park.
Single Dusky Thrushes are scattered around everywhere now.
Some local Long-taileds
Local bird photographers go crazy over these. There was a flock of half a dozen or so near my place the last 2 days…
Another afternoon in the tiny park
And there are still some birds there…
