Some Waxwings from last Friday. Surely the last ones of the winter?
One of the Waxwings was in the playground of a local kindergarten.
It found a few berries on the ground………
The kindergarten seemed closed but a foreigner apparently taking random photos may have seemed a bit odd to any passers-by so I didn’t linger long.
The 2 Bohemian Waxwings were still around on Friday.
Amazingly I haven’t got bored with them yet.
Although I am well aware the world doesn’t really need any more Waxwing photos from Hakodate.
I thought they’d all gone……….
But obviously they haven’t. These 2 Bohemian Waxwings were near my apartment this morning.
They were in town for almost 5 weeks. Great while it lasted.
Waxwings get thirsty……….
And they hit the roof…………
The Waxwings have nearly all gone now, my last photos are from 5 or 6 days ago when I found a flock on small side road eating berries on the ground.
The last pics from a very busy day last weekend………….
Tame interesting birds in nice golden late afternoon light. What more could I ask for?
The small flock of Waxwings was very tame last weekend………
There were none at all last winter, this winter has been amazing for them.
I’ve been stuck in town the last few weeks for various reasons but have really enjoyed the waxwings being so close to my apartment and so easy to photograph………..
A few Waxwings remained on Monday and the late afternoon light was good for photos………
