Not great photos but I was pretty stoked to find this male White-winged Crossbill in the crossbill flock yesterday. Pretty rare in Japan; my second one this year.
Actually I think this subspecies should be called Two-barred Crossbill.

Great bird ! Will there be enough birders in Hokkaido to form a crowd “twitching” this one ?
I hardly ever meet birders around here. A few photographers maybe but none of them are ‘serious’ birders. Bet I’ll be the only one to see it probably.
