Such a weird bird – and envious you can get so close to Scoters generally. Exciting when Spring migration gets well underway – our first Wheatear just spotted in Ally Pally, and we had a Black Redstart a few days ago.Reply

Black Redstart: very nice. Only ever saw 1 in the UK, almost 40 years ago!
They may be distant, but Stejneger’s Scoters are still pretty special.
Always special, always distant!
