It was a dark cold christmas eve….
We were east of town checking on the Steller’s Sea Eagle which takes up residence there every winter. It was there but sat on a tree on the mountainside doing nothing. A Mountain Hawk-Eagle put in a brief appearance at least.
The port was quiet but this Pelagic Cormorant popped up close.
We stayed at a hotel on a nearby cape…
Might have been a dull day (you should spend more time in England to appreciate really dull weather!) but excellent shots and especially to show the detailed plumage of the Hawk. Xmas greetings to yourself and Shigeko from London!
Thanks Tony. Hope you have a good 2022…
Wonderful, especially love the shot of the Peregrine! And what a powerful-looking bird the Mountain Hawk-Eagle is.
It is indeed…
