This male Siberian Blue Robin was a nice find in the park. The first Narcissus Flycatcher of the summer was also there as well as lots of Eastern Crowned Warbler and Asian Brown Flycatcher…………..

Wow, stunning bird and excellent image
Thanks Tony. Have you ever seen one here?
No sadly not seen in Japan – having checked my spreadsheet of total 110 for my Japan list. Not usually around in Spring/Summer as most of my visits have been in Autumn and a few in winter. Managing to ‘break out’ of North London for birding/butterfly trips these past few weeks so that’s been a welcome tonic to be out in the countryside.
Apparently it’s Global Big Day world birding event today and last year 6,479 species were recorded by 50,072 birders in 175 countries!
The only SBRs I’ve seen here in HK were poking around in dark woodland -great to see one in the open !
This one was in dark woodland too for 99% of the time!
