A very close encounter with Brown Bear from yesterday.
500mm f4 makes a good portrait lens in these circumstances!
I don’t want to say too much about this individual because if local officials know where it is they can get a little overzealous and the poor bear might get shot.
Whoo-hoo. ! I’d go for the 800mm with converter, but would it work when I’m running away ?
Seriously, great shots !
800 with T/C would have just about fitted the eyes and nose in………..
Excellent encounter Stuart, so how many bears have you now seen in Hokkaido? And are you thinking of wearing ‘Bear bells’ when you venture out into the forests?!
Just the third time down here. No bells: don’t want to scare the birds off!
Take care – Mushroom picking man gone missing in central Hokkaido apparently According to Meg – A bear the main suspect….
I buy my mushrooms at the supermarket!
