I saw a flock of 8 Waxwings in town today. 3 Bohemian (above) and 5 Japanese Waxwings (below).
I didn’t either species last year but 2 years ago there were loads of them. I wonder what the rest of winter will hold?

Waxwings are such beautiful birds like Kabuki actors.
I hope I will be able to see them this year ! But the weather this winter seems to be unusually mild…does it put them off coming to Hakodate I wonder……
