Lots of Black Scoter around today.
A dark, grey snowy Sunday with some common winter birds to match…
I won’t be heading up to Oshamambe/Yakumo for a couple of weeks and by then the ports will probably be empty of ducks as they will have headed north…
Yesterday both Black Scoter and Great Scaup were abundant.
These were absolutely everywhere at the weekend…
It was a bit rough in the ports at the weekend…
But the eerie wailing of Black Scoters was everywhere.
Some nice light so I used the 2X teleconverter…

Day #4 was a quiet one…we allowed ourselves to sleep in even.
These Black Scoters were in the port at Mukawa.
And this Peregrine was atop a post wondering if it a goose was too big to nab or not.
There were 2 main ports we visited in the Mukawa area and they held good numbers of common duck species…
