The AF is a bit hit and miss and yes the images a tad soft…
But I don’t think I would have been able to get these shots with my 500 f/4 as I wouldn’t have been able o swing it round and focus in time.
So a great value walkaround lens for a very good price (yes I know mine is only on loan).
Great BIFS of the Long-tailed Duck, the f11 must be a good lens for travel !
It’s OK in good light with clear backgrounds. Wouldn’t fancy it much in the forest trying to photograph a bird in the middle of a bush though!
