A lone wader on the pool

Red-necked Pharalope

This Red-necked Pharalope was a nice find in the same place I saw the Black-winged Stilts last week. The light was harsh and I was handholding at 700mm: I was a bit disappointed with the soft pics when I got home. They seemed much better when I was checking them on the back of the camera…

  1. Excellent photos soft or not! Speed just the one lone Phalarope on a shallow salt pan off the Black Sea coast and demonstrating its feeding habit of continuous circling. I think nifty footwork to dislodge food and then collect in a continuous motion.
